By day, Palm City hosts the Speedhunter Showdown, a sanctioned competition where you earn Bank to customize and upgrade your high-performance cars. At night, ramp up the intensity in illicit street races that build your reputation, getting you access to bigger races and better parts. But stay ready – cops are waiting and not all of them play fair.

In Need for Speed Heat, the lines of the law fade when the sun starts to set. By daylight, compete in the Speedhunter Showdown, a series of sanctioned events where you can earn Bank to customize your personal fleet of cars. When your ride’s styled just right, ramp up the intensity at night. Enter illicit street races with your die-hard crew but stay ready – rogue cops are waiting. Take chances, burn competitors to increase your Rep, and risk it all for underground glory.

The UI is an extension of your vehicle, so follows the same theme of the cars vibrant pop against the more urban/gritty backgrounds.
The HUD has a clean foot print that contextually delivers feedback with vibrant highlights for key moments, all brought to life through rewarding motion. Backgrounds within the menu will bring the urban/gritty feel, whilst anchoring the UI screens around the player’s own upgraded vehicle will help to immerse the player and create a showcase for their vehicle & achievements. Menu items will be clean with clear choice & page hierarchy. Additional lighting overlays & global VFX will add life and intrigue to the UI menu screens.

Creating a franchise visual signature gives NFS a distinct visual identity, in a similar vein to Battlefield’s flare/fire.
Reflected across the game through key art, menu screen BGs, illuminated AR & HUD elements.
A versatile visual signature that wraps around our hero car assets & brings motion & intrigue to the game.

GOAL: The player feels rewarded by their interactions across a variety of immersive features, that delight in tehir reaction to player input.
TONE: We are unapologetic, we are maverick. Nothing holds us back.
EXPRESSION: Creativity in Need for Speed is unconstrained, explosive and without limits.

Provide the player with reactive feedback, that supports player intentions and rewards their actions.
Set a fresh contemporary look that relates back to traditional car speedometers and presents feedback that feels reactive and rewarding to player input. Alive & reactive to acceleration & deceleration. Complimenting camera movement & heightening the feeling of risk and danger at high speed.

GOAL: Provide solid foundations that consider gameplay feedback & the overall player experience as a whole. Every feature should be aware of it’s place & priority in relation to everything else.

PARTY AND PLAYER INTERACTION WIDGET

The party system is the usual system that players used for connecting with friends, sending friend and game invites or join other players game. Within NFS we can have up to 8 player parties. The main focus of Online Gameplay in NFS Heat is our 16 players servers which is called AllDrive in NFS.
